The Institute for education, instruction
and cultural activities “Friderik Irenej Baraga” was initiated at the start of
2007 by the diocese of Novo Mesto. Within this institute, that is also the seat
of the Karitas of the diocese, operates the catechistic pastoral institute, the
organ school “Hugolin Sattner”, the Centre for Instruction “Lojze Grozde”, the
spiritual home of Notre Dame and the Conservatory of Music “Jurij Slatkonja”.
With at the moment more than one hundred musicians enrolled, The Conservatory of
Music offers the possibility to frequent courses at the lower and medium level
divided into seven sections: organist and choir director, pianoforte, organ,
antique music, violin, song and liturgical organ.
